CLANE, 15 June 2002: by Brian Byrne. A number of Clane Musical Society members and their supporters will be waiting anxiously this evening in Killarney as they see how the society’s nominees for AIMS awards get on.
The nominations from Clane are Best Director, Arthur McGauran; Best Stage Manager, Marie Cusack; and Best Supporting Male, Aidan Donoghue. Mary Farrell was nominated by the society for the ‘Unsung Hero’ award.
The society’s main production in the last year was Fiddler on the Roof. Members also staged exerpts from their production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas at the New Ross Choral Festival.
