Money allocated for upgrading in Celbridge

CELBRIDGE: 8 June 2001: by Trish Whelan. The sum of £216,000 is to be provided for the continuation of the upgrading of the Main Street in Celbridge. This funding will be provided under the Urban and Village Renewal Programme.

While he welcomed the funding, Deputy Emmet Stagg stressed that this left a shortfall of nearly £300,000 for the completion of the upgrading as designed and agreed in the Shaffrey Plan.

At last week’s meeting of Kildare County Council, county manager Niall Bradley - in response to Deputy Stagg - said he was considering the request from the Celbridge Area Committee to provide the balance from Development Levies.
