Athy awaits decentralisation list

10 October 2003: Business and community interests in Athy are waiting for a decision by the Government on proposed decentralisation of state departments, which has now been promised for 'before Christmas'.

Athy is one of 160 towns around Ireland with applications in for a decentralised Government department.

The case for Athy has been made by local politicians, business people and community organisations.
