ASSISI, ITALY & NAAS, 15 June 2002: by Brian Byrne. Greetings from Omaha have been sent to Naas by one of the delegates from the Nebraska, USA, capital who brought the first charter documents from there to Naas last November.
The message was conveyed from Rita Ryan by this writer who met her on a street in Assisi last week, where she was leading a group of her Latin students on a tour of Italy and Greece. She is pictured above with some of the 25 students who are travelling with her and with 13 other adults from Omaha.
Rita has fond memories of meeting with Naas councillors such as Timmy Conway, who initiated the twinning process between Naas and Omaha.
