Further Arrow capacity 'awaiting proposals'

21 December 2003: Following the introduction of the recent 30% increase in capacity on the Kildare Arrow route serving Hazelhatch, Sallins and Newbridge Stations, further increases in capacity can only be brought about through increasing track capacity.

Iarnrod Eireann are currently considering a plan to quadruple a section of route between Cherry Orchard and Hazelhatch at a cost of €135 Million.

This project would take a number of years to complete and the minister for transport has advised Deputy Emmett Stagg that he is still awaiting a final submission of proposals.
