NAAS, 2 October 2002: People who qualify for the affordable housing scheme in Naas may be able to buy their homes for as little as E115,000, councillors were told at a recent meeting of Naas Town Council.
But town clerk Declan Kirrane emphasised that that was a 'ball park figure', and the council 'cannot be bound to that figure'.
The houses on the Caragh road should be ready by the end of this year or early next year. Social housing units on the site should be ready by July 2003.
The closing date for applications for Affordable Houses is 18 October and applicants don’t have to be on the housing list. Allocations will be made in October/November.
Some 220 people have sought information on the scheme from Naas Town Council.
