Launch Kildare Sports Partnership
The Launch of the Kildare Sports Partnership took place in Pipers Hill Community College Kilashee Naas on Tuesday January 18th. Mayor of Kildare Cllr. Brendan Weld as well as Chairman of the Partnership Niall Quinn welcomed almost 400 people from groups representing over 40 diferent sports as well as representatives from schools and other interested parties. John Treacy also addressed and officially launched the partnership. Later in the evening Niall Quinn and John Treacy were joined on the podium by some of sports luminaries, Champion Jockey Johnnie Murtagh, Irish Boxing Champion and European bronze medallist Eric Donovan, former All Star footballer Anthony Rainbow and Kildare Ladies Football Captain Donna Berry for a most enjoyable question and answer session when our sporting heroes gave an insight into their chosen sports.
