Introduction

Map showing the main towns in County Kildare, IrelandKildare 2012 is an economic, social and cultural strategy for the development of Kildare. It sets out a shared vision for Kildare over the next ten years, a vision that all the main agencies in the county have signed up to and will work together to achieve.

This Strategy is the first time that the key agencies in the county have come together to draw up shared goals and objectives and align their policies to achieve a common agenda.

This Strategy provides a framework for all agencies, and those with an interest in the development of Kildare, to work within so as to achieve our vision of the future.

The production of this Strategy is the first task of Kildare County Development Board (KCDB). After the most in-depth consultative process ever undertaken in the county – over two years of consultation, research and debate – this document represents the KCDB Strategy for Kildare.

Each partner on KCDB has agreed to operate within the goals and objectives set out in this draft document over the next 10 years. KCDB believes that, through co-operation and working together, more and better services will be available to all residents in the county. This Strategy is available in other formats on request.
