Action

Establish a County-level Transport Group to co-ordinate and maximise urban and rural transport services and infrastructure with the specific tasks of:

  • drawing up a wide ranging Transport Plan for the county that includes all modes, takes account of the needs of people with disabilities and considers the relationship between transport needs and land use
  • investigating how best to include private and other providers into public transport provision in order to create better linkages throughout the county
  • liaising at regional and national level with appropriate bodies on relevant transport issues
  • promote awareness of public transport routes and their benefits throughout the county
  • work with the Dublin Transport Office on the area of demand management including provision of infrastructure such as QBCs, rail, cycle lanes traffic management etc.
