Review and improve the elements and process of drafting County, Town, Village and Local Area Plans to create a more integrated approach to development including:

  • wider community involvement
  • social and economic requirements
  • consultation with all key stakeholders, including social service providers
  • use of design guidelines

Examine and devise a model Community Impact Statement that assesses the positive and negative impacts of developments on the local community and make a submission to Kildare County Council and the Department of the Environment and Local Government for consideration

Consider and pilot the introduction of minimum thresholds that trigger the provision of specific social services in economic and residential development so that new developments will proceed in an integrated way. Make a submission to the Department of the Environment and Local Government for legislative change to reflect these thresholds
