District Doings.
In Athy and Carlow.
During the past week Athy and Carlow have been literally
besieged with motor cars. Some few complaints have been made of the speed
with which they go in country districts, regardless of the inconvenience,
if not danger, thus caused to those engaged in ordinary traffic.

On Tuesday Mr. Edge, winner of the trophy last year, visited
Athy on a round of the course. On Wednesday Mr. V. G. D.
Goff, Waterford, accompanied by Sir H. Robinson and Major Nugent, went
around the course. When interviewed at Kildare, Mr. Goff expressed himself
delighted with the course, and said that Sir H. Robinson was well pleased
with the condition in which he found it.

Mr. Goff also stated that the manager of the Panhard Company
(French) was well pleased with the condition of the roads,
although he thought them somewhat narrow at places.
