QUEENS CO. COUNCIL.
SPECIAL MEETING.

A special meeting of the Queen’s County Council was held on Friday last. The principal business was the consideration of the regulations for the Gordon-Bennett Motor Race suggested by the Local Government Board. Mr. P. A. Meehan Chairman, presided, and the other members present were:- Messrs. T. Lowry, J.P.; James McMahon, J.P.; D. Quigley, Arthur McMahon, Chairman Abbeyleix District Council; Arthur McMahon, Cuddagh; James Ransbottom, R. Dooley, James Conroy, D. Shaughnessy, T. Timmons, Chairman Athy No. 2 R.D.C.; P. Brennan, Clontico; Mr. James Carey, Secretary, and Mr. H. Turpin, solicitor, were also present.

THE GORDON-BENNETT MOTOR RACE.
The regulations suggested by the Local Government Board for the control of the roads for the Gordon-Bennett Motor Race.– Mr. Ransbottom asked if there would be any right to cross the course at all that day. It would be very awkward if a priest or doctor could not cross. Chairman: Any case of urgency will be provided for by the stewards.

On the motion of Mr. McMahon, Cuddagh, seconded by Mr. Dooley, the regulations were approved and the seal of the Council affixed thereto.
