THE MOTOR RACE.
APOLOGY FROM “MOTORING ILLUSTRATED.”
The conductors of “Motoring Illustrated,” whose references
to the historical features in the motor race course evoked a strong protest
from the Mountmellick District Council, have forwarded to that body a liberal
apology, in which they explain away the gibes on dead Irish kings as the
production of a young writer with a “distorted sense of humour,” who
has since been reprimanded. The apology will come before the Council at
to-day’s (Saturday’s) meeting.
