Our Build your own Musical Instrument workshop will take place at the Jam Music School, Abbey Street, Naas on Thursday the 18th of February from 10.00 am  to 1.00 pm. 

In the first section of the workshop students will be given traditional instruments and will be given the task to figure how the instrument creates sound.

We will go on to explain the science behind sound and acoustics and how we can use this information to create our own musical instruments.

There will then be a small break for the students to have something to eat drink.

In the next section we will brainstorm, pan and draw ideas for our instruments and organise groups and materials before we start building.

In the last hour we will play the new instruments we have built and work together to create a group piece for the end of the workshop.

All materials will be provided.
