Waterways Ireland - Proposed Barrow Blueway

Public Information Event on the proposed Barrow Blueway development along the River Barrow.

Waterways Ireland with Carlow, Laois, Kilkenny & Kildare County Councils, LEADER Companies and Fáilte Ireland have been working together for a number of years assessing the tourism and recreational potential of the Barrow Navigation. 

The initial assessments and proposals formed the Barrow Product Development Study and from that further work has been undertaken by the partners to implement the various proposals the study made. 

The development of a shared use trail was one of the proposals and it has been branded Barrow Blueway.
