FIELD NAMES IN THE LULLYMORE AREA

(1)  Bog field ‘crannog’ found here in the 1970’s

(2)  Back run field

(3)  Bushfield (near Derrybrennan)

(4)  Collacher or Collagre field

(5)  Church field (graveyard)

(6)  Cludog area between Racefield and Graveyard field Meaning ‘Batch of Eggs’. This was where the old forge was situated in Monastic times.

(7)  Cinders field is from this same area

(8)  Dempsey’s field

(9)   Finch field

(10) Five acres field

(11)  Fifteen acres field

(12) Friars park

(13)  The field at the back of the church field and adjacent to the Race Field was ploughed by bullocks in the 1850’s

(14) Fowran or Varwan field – there is a well located here
