Brighter Christmas

Kildare traders made a special effort to attract patrons for Christmas, and the additional festive lights erected in Claregate Street and the Market Square added considerably to the attraction of the town at night.

The lights suffered a mishap on Monday night when a large truck tore down a section of the wiring in the narrower part of Claregate Street. Early on Tuesday morning local electrician, Paddy Morrissey, and a couple of assistants had quite a job repairing the damage.
