We have recently lost one of our team, Chris Holzgräwe, who has left for bigger and better things, but who proved of enormous benefit to Kildare Local Studies, Genealogy and Archives in terms of research and the collation and archiving of material. We wish him well. One interesting item he stumbled upon, whilst working on a usable inventory of material held here in the archives, was an address by Athy UDC to Pope Leo XIII on his attaining his silver Jubilee. Similar addresses were proposed by Baltinglass and Naas and are recorded in the Kildare Observer of September 1902.
