Celbridge Abbey to Castletown
A guided walk of Celbridge Abbey Grounds and the lovely Castletown river walk. The Abbey grounds have a rare beauty and feature “The Rock Bridge,” the oldest remaining bridge spanning the Liffey. Connections to Celbridge Abbey include Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver’s Travels, and Henry Grattan, the greatest orator in the Irish House of Commons.

A guided Bog land walk, looking at the changing face of the midland bogs and taking in the butterfly conservation nature reserve.

Curragh Camp to Gibbet Rath
A guided walk on the Curragh Camp focusing on the structures of the original military camp built at the turn of the 20th Century (1km) and then an optional longer walk (5/6 km) to the Gibbet Rath (with a moderately steep climb), the site of a massacre in 1798. The walks can be done independently of each other.

Arthur’s Way Walk, Celbridge
A guided walk along a section of Arthur’s Way taking in Batty Langley Lodge at Castletown and the magnificent Wonderful Barn near Leixlip built in 1743 by Catherine Connolly.

Clane to Clongowes Wood Walk
A 5.2 km round trip walk to Clongowes which will highlight how the locality was portrayed in James Joyce’s book. Walkers can join the route anywhere between Clane and the 202 year old school.

Monasterevin Town Walk
A guided walk around the town of Monasterevin, a place referred to as the ‘Venice of Ireland’ because of the number of bridges in close proximity and looking at the connections to such famous people as the tenor Count John McCormack and the poet and Jesuit Gerald Manley Hopkins.
