Combat
Service Support College (CSSC)
The CSSC through its
constituent schools provides instruction for Defence Forces
personnel in all facets of Combat Service Support - functions such
as manning, arming, fixing, fuelling and moving. |
The CSSC is divided into
schools which carry out the
functions of training these personnel. |

- Ordnance School
- The Ordnance School
provides instruction and training in all areas relating to
evaluation, maintenance and repair of weapons and weapons
systems, storage and handling of ammunition and explosives, and
in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)

Maintenance School (TVMS)
- Driver training and
testing as well as instruction relating to fleet management,
transport administration and vehicle recovery is the remit of
the TVMS

- This school trains Military
Police personnel in all aspects of military policing, crime
investigation and provost duties at home and overseas.

- The Medical School
- The role of the Medical
School is to train medical orderlies for the Defence Forces
and provides instructional training in ambulance skills,
occupational first aid and medical support

- Defence Forces Physical
Education School (DFPES)
- Physical fitness is one of
the utmost requirements of any soldier. The Defence
Forces Physical Education School provides a comprehensive range of
physical education and sports events co-ordination. It conducts
the training of unit physical training instructors (PTI's) under the
auspices of the University of Limerick. It also runs training courses in swimming, lifesaving and unarmed
combat. It also monitors the annual fitness testing of DFTC
personnel.

- The Military Administration
School
- The provision of instruction
and training of all personnel of the Defence Forces in every facet
of administration, logistics, personnel management and clerical
duties is the main remit of the Military Administration School. It
also has a computer training section which offers a comprehensive
range of computer and IT applications courses up to ECDL and
beyond.

- Defence Forces School of Catering
(DFSC)
- Defence Forces personnel are
trained from basic field catering to specialist and senior catering
management in this establishment.

CQMS Martin O'Rourke won a gold
medal for Hygiene in the lamb dish and went on to win platinum and
the overall Identity board trophy for Hygiene Excellence for the
whole competition. This was only the second time that the trophy
came to Ireland.
Cpl Paul Callery,who has appeared on
TV on RTE PM, a veteran of both national and International
competitions won a Certificate of Merit for his Senior Van Der
Bergh Masterclass

- Trainee Technicians
- The CSSC co-ordinates this
scheme with various Institutes of Technology and FÁS for the
training of specialist technicians and trades.
