A film is in production about the winning of the Melbourne Cup by Curragh trainer Dermot Weld's Media Puzzle. An Australian film crew has spent two weeks shooting at the Curragh, before the old grandstand is replaced. The horse won Australia's greatest race in 2002, ridden by jockey Damien Oliver.
Filming is due to continue next March, with the release date set to coincide with the build-up to next year's race. Pierce Brosnan is thought to be a possibility for the part of the famous trainer.
