Irish Habitats and Wildlife - New Course Available


‘Well worth doing’, ‘this was a great mix of theory, practical and putting learning into action’ and ‘excellent course’ were just some of the comments from the course participants from the first Measuring , Monitoring and Management course held in April. 

Due to demand the IPCC are offering their new course ‘Measuring, Monitoring and Management of Irish Habitats and Wildlife’ again on the 14th and 15th July.

Whether you are a new graduate seeking employment, are just about to retire or are employed, now is the time to increase your skills to conserve, restore and protect habitats and wildlife throughout Ireland. 

IPCC are offering this new course to mark the International Year of Biodiversity.  The course is an introductory course that includes twenty-five skills used to measure, monitor and manage Irish habitats and wildlife.  

Skills that are included in the course are map reading, water level measuring, developing a management plan, drain blocking, indicator species identification, recording abiotic factors affecting habitats and survey techniques. 

The course will be held on the 14 th and 15th July 2010 at the Bog of Allen Nature Centre, Co. Kildare from 9am-5pm.  The cost of the course is 95 Euro per participant and places are limited.
