The Irish Peatland Conservation
Council (IPCC) are delighted
to announce
that their Enviro-Shop is now open in their
new premises at The Bog of Allen
Nature Centre, Lullymore, Rathangan, Co. Kildare.
The shop
contains an array
of gifts inspired from bogs and wildlife, bog education packs,
wildlife
postcards, identification charts and much more. There is a
beautiful range
of greeting cards designed by artists, inspired by bogs; educational
toys
such as bug viewing boxes; bog-related books; bog oak turned
biros and the
smell of turf burning in traditional cottages.
The new space
for the shop
includes an art gallery where artwork, mostly inspired by peatlands,
is
displayed.
All profits from the sale of goods in the shop and
art gallery go
towards the Save the Bogs Campaign.
The IPCC have just published
their new
catalogue, which can be viewed online at www.ipcc.ie or
you can contact the
IPCC on 045-860133 to obtain a copy.
Visitors are welcome to the shop
between 10am and 5pm Monday to Friday. A special Saturday opening
will occur
later this year on Saturday November 27th.
While in the shop visitors
may
wish to explore the peatland exhibitions, which are currently being
developed at the centre or investigate the composting bins and
wormeries in
the grounds of the nature centre.
