New Humanities and Social Sciences Building for NUI

The Minister of State at the Department of Health and local Fianna Fail TD, Áine Brady has welcomed the Minister for Education, Batt O’Keeffe TD to NUI Maynooth for the sod-turning on the new Humanities and Social Sciences Building.

“I am delighted to welcome Minister O’Keeffe back to NUI Maynooth for this important milestone in the development of the new Humanities and Social Sciences Building.”

“The new humanities and social sciences building will house three separate research institutes - the National Centre for Geocomputation; the National Institute for Regional and Spatial Analysis; and An Foras Feasa which will undertake ground breaking research to bring Ireland’s cultural traditions to life.”

“This expansion is part of NUI Maynooth’s ten year plan and I must congratulate all of those at NUI Maynooth involved in pushing the project forward.”

“In these difficult economic times, this Government has focussed on research and development as a growth area that will result in new ideas and enterprises that will provide sustainable jobs that will bolster the economy.”

“NUI Maynooth has proved to be an important part of social, educational and economic life of north Kildare and continued investment and expansion of the campus is great news for the area,” concluded Minister Brady.
