Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, Aine Brady TD, has been informed by her Government colleague , the Minister for Housing, Michael Finneran TD, that his Department has approved funding of €7.4million for a housing project (Nas Na Riogh) at Old Convent, Sallins Road, Naas, Co. Kildare.
'The funding is in respect of the provision of 53 units of accommodation under the Department's Capital Assistance Scheme for voluntary housing projects and will make a significant contribution in meeting the needs of older people in Naas and the surrounding area.'
'The accommodation units are being provided by Nás Na Ríogh Voluntary Housing Association, in cooperation with Kildare County Council.' stated Minister Brady.
'I want to compliment all those involved, in particular Margharita Solon and the Voluntary Housing Association Committee, who worked together with Kildare Co Co, Local Public Representatives, Department Officials, the Sisters of Mercy and the local community , in bringing this project to this stage.'
'This is a substantial investment by Government and an investment that will bring about significant community gain.' concluded Minister Brady.
