€24.5 million for Regional and Local Roads

Fianna Fail TD for Kildare North, Áine Brady has welcomed the news that Kildare County Council is to receive €24,578,264 in funding for regional and local roads.

“Just over €9.6 million will be allocated towards maintenance, restoration, improvement and safety.”

“Over €2.6 million will be allocated towards specific improvement grants including €347,000 for the R407 Sallins to Clane road.”

“Additional strategic grants will include over €2 million for the Clane Kilcock improvement scheme which will work on the stretch of road from 800m south of the M4 to 3200m south of the M4.”

“The Naas Ring Road encompassing the Newbridge Road to Kilcullen Road to Craddockstown Road will get almost €3.7 million and the Enfield – Edenderry improvement scheme will get €5 million.”

“This represents significant investment into the regional and local roads in Kildare. This funding is especially important for those living in rural areas as improvements to these local roads serve to increase safety of travellers,” concluded Deputy Brady.
