Sallins Photographer in Dublin Exhibition

"Sacred Spaces & Quiet Beauty on The Green" at The People’s Photography Exhibition

Sacred Spaces and Quiet Beauty Sallins Photographer, Daria Marie Walsh, will take part in the open-air, group photography show, The People’s Photography Exhibition. The exhibition, on St. Stephen’s Green in Dublin, takes place Saturday and Sunday, 25th & 26th August, from 10am to 5pm. Daria will be showing “Sacred Spaces & Quiet Beauty on The Green” as part of The People’s Photography Exhibition.

The open-air group show will be located around the perimeter of St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin. Daria’s exhibition space, #109, is located on the North Side of St. Stephen’s Green, directly across from The Shelbourne Hotel and Kildare Street.

This showing will focus on the extended theme of ‘the green’. The hectic pace of life dictates a need for the serene and calming effect of ‘the green’. There is a need to preserve and incorporate our natural surroundings into our daily lives, to bring a balance back with nature.

The pieces, some incorporated from her first two shows, were photographed in Ireland and the U.S. and will be made available in a variety of sizes framed or mounted and signed. The photographs, black & white and colour, are landscape, nature, wildlife and architectural. The sacred beauty of nature is a profound gift not to be dismissed. “Sacred Spaces & Quiet Beauty on The Green” at The People’s Photography Exhibition is Daria’s third showing this year.

Daria has been practising photography and writing for approximately twenty years. She earned her University degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications, from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Ms. Walsh was a Semi-Finalist for the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts in 1985, selected as ‘A Best New Poet’ by the American Poetry Association in 1988, and published in “Dyandra’s Crystal Sands” in 1996.

Daria is a member of the Gallery of Photography, Dublin. Her photography has appeared in newspapers, brochures and posters in both America and Ireland; and The Princes Street Art and Craft Fair in Cork City. Darias’ first solo exhibition, “Sacred Spaces and Quiet Beauty”, was held in Naas, County Kildare in March of this year. Her second solo exhibition, “Sacred Spaces & Quiet Beauty II” was shown as part of Listowel Writer’s Week, County Kerry. Among her Photographic influences she lists Dorothea Lange, Edward Curtis, Ansel Adams and Anton Corbijn. Her Writing influences include, W.B. Yeats, William Blake, Edna O’Brien, John Steinbeck and Edna St. Vincent Millay. Daria takes great joy in the photographers’ ability to capture a single moment in time. She loves that, as an art form, it is unique in its ability to commit to memory every detail of a second in life, as it never was before and never will be again.

Daria shares her Sallins home with husband of three years, Paul H. Tubb; a Children’s Comic Poet and Songwriter. Daria is the daughter of the late Dr. James P. Walsh and Alice and John Baran of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
