Adventure, excitement and delight await you when the mighty Gulliver travels to Newbridge and spectacularly tranforms Riverbank Arts Centre into Lilliput on Saturday 12th March. Wonderland Production bring an exciting new adaptation of Jonathan Swift's best-loved classic, Gulliver's Travels to Riverbank.
After Gulliver is shipwrecked, he travels to extraordinary countries and experiences fantastical adventures. Swift's work is full of sharp wit, comedy and wonderful fantasy, and his storytelling talent ensured his work became a classic of children's literature.
Song, spectacle, puppetry and mask enable young people to explore these colourful lands, whilst adults can revel in Swift’s stinging comic commentary and epic satire.
An ensemble cast of five will bring this classic to life, playing multiple roles and enlivening their characters with costume, physical theatre, inventive design, live music and puppetry. They will invite their audience to imagine the giants of Brobdingnag and the tiny Lilliputians, talking horses and scenes of shipwreck. Wonderland's Gulliver's Travels is triumph of the theatrical imagination, engaging and inspiring children and adults alike.
The show is adapted and directed by Wonderland's Artistic Director Alice Coghlan, in association with Mermaid Arts Centre and will play at Riverbank Arts Centre for one night only on Saturday 12th March, 7.30pm. Music, fun and adventure await you and there's something for everyone in Wonderland's Gulliver's Travels- book now. Call Riverbank Box Office on 045 448327 or visit www.riverbank.ie
