Celebrate Christmas at Riverbank Arts Centre

The 4th Wise Man Festive cheer abounds at Riverbank Arts Centre this season with many events across a range of genres set to keep the spirit level high this Christmas and on into New Year.

All through December there are family events, theatre and comedy shows, classic cinema and more. Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without a fun-filled family show and on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th December, find out what happened to the fourth wise man who never made it to Bethlehem. The Fourth Wise Man is the hilarious story of King Jack, a big-hearted child in the body of a man who always seems to head in the wrong direction. Let Jack take you on a Christmas adventure and who knows where you'll end up. On Friday, shows take place at 11am, 1pm and 7.30pm and on Saturday at 2pm and 7.30pm. A great family day out.

On Sunday 19th of December, let the angelic and ethereal voice of Eimear Quinn soothe away the stresses and bustle of Christmas shopping. 'O Holy Night' is an intimate evening of songs and carols perfect to get you in the mood for a relaxing Christmas.

On Tuesday 21st, take a trip to the past and experience the magical 1947 version of Miracle on 34th Street. At just €4 or free for over 65s, this is a wonderful chance to see a timeless Silver Screen classic on the big screen. On Wednesday 22nd of December don't miss a Christmas double bill of the much loved film The Snowman and Father Christmas at 2pm. Tickets for this double bill are remarkable value at €3.

Des Bishop also plays two nights at Riverbank in December on the 21st and 22nd. While these shows are sold out, comedy fans need not despair as the new year at Riverbank will see the likes of Jason Byrne and Maeve Higgins return to the Newbridge stage. On the music front, get your New Year entertainment sorted with the ever-talented Jack L who plays Riverbank Arts Centre on January 14th & 15th.

Riverbank Arts Centre will announced a new programme of events for January to March 2010 this week. For more visit www.riverbank.ie and see what fun you’ll be having in the first half of 2011.
