Kildare Astronomy Society Beginners Night at Kilkea Castle Sat 4th Feb

Anyone with an interest in astronomy is welcome to attend this free event.

We will cater for anyone who received a telescope or binoculars for Christmas, those who would like a guided tour of the night sky or those who just want to learn more about our Universe, the Solar System, the Sun, Moon and Stars.

For those who are interested in photography, there will be a presentation on how to take pictures of celestial objects.

Everyone is welcome from all age groups. Tea and Coffee will be served. If it is cloudy or the weather is bad we have an exciting indoor line-up. If the weather is good we can enjoy a night under the stars in the beautiful castle gardens.

Please feel free to bring your own telescope or binoculars – we can show you how to use them properly. If you don’t have your own, there will be telescopes and binoculars available for you to look through.

Directions
Kilkea Castle is situated just outside Castledermot on the Castledermot road. It is easily accessible from the M9 or N78. The hotel is clearly signposted from Athy or Castledermot.
