Athy Lions Club has launched a collection service for old unwanted glasses for distribution to the developing world.
Athy Lions President, Paul Cunningham commented, “90% of the worlds’ 265 million visually impaired people live in the developing word, of which 19 Million are children.
In most cases these visual impairments are easily treated with corrective lenses.
Collected Glasses will be centrally segmented and cleaned before being shipped to the developing world where they will be distributed free of charge by the Lions Club organisation

- Athy Lions Club Bookshop – Duke Street
All types of Prescription Glasses and Sunglasses are welcomed.
