Tuesday the 29th June sees the launch of Jamie Dunne's first solo exhibition Reflections '09.
Jamie has been involved in exhibiting as far back as he can
remember, with the Anna Liffey Art Group, The People’s Art Exhibition on the
Railings of Stephen’s green, and more recently in Merrion Square, Dublin
City. Now is the time for Jamie to
showcase his unique, vibrant and
contemporary collection of works.
Reflection’s ‘09, will see a diverse collection of works ,
Jamie’s best known stylised interpretations of well known landmarks , along
with beautifully sketched Life studies
and Aged Ink drawings of local scenes.
This exhibition will be a wonderful showcase of this local
talent in the Naas Community Library.
The gallery is situated on the mezzanine floor over looking the ground floor of
the library. The space utilises great natural light and is regarded as one
of the best exhibition spaces available
in County Kildare. The library is fully
accessible by lift from the ground floor.
The exhibition opens
to the public Tuesday the 29th June, and the official opening that
evening.
The library opens late Tuesday and Thursday evening until 8.
Jamie’s objective for this exhibition is to present the
opportunity to as many people in the community to enjoy his work. The
importance of the exhibition to be welcoming to all ages and interested is key.
For this reason On Saturday the 4th July there will be an
opportunity for family’s to enjoy the exhibition together. While parents browse
the collection, children are welcome to recreate some of Jamie’s best known
works in their own style with the help of the artist himself. Children
participating in the “Young Artist Corner” will only be able to so with
parental supervision.
Jamie has enjoyed much support in Leixlip, and Kilcock and
in the wider community, and would like to thank all who have contributed to his
success to date.
