A body of work by Emer Gillespie dealing with two opposing themes.
First, domestication: the day-to-day script of the artist's home life, fraught with stress and responsibilities but captured in simplistic images of beauty and calmness.
Second, traveling: the frenetic energy and movement of a journey, outside the security of the home, frozen and crystallised into a single
image.
Both sides of this project balance, effectively canceling each other out to leave the artist content.
