Bank Clearance Stile Erection

Bank Clearance work along our stretch of the Liffey was carried out by President Des Tyrrell and Tommy Deegan in late February 2017.

Two sections of the Ferny Inch were chosen for selective cutting of mainly sally trees and bushes, opening up a nice section of water for fly fishing.

Des also designed, built and erected two smashing stiles. One on the roadside, to be used when going angling on the Ferny Inch stretch of our water. The other stile was erected at Kane's Ford to help anglers' get out of the river when going further downstream to fish. Des was helped by Vice President Tom Nugent and his son when erecting the stiles.
