All Ireland Medal

Well done to Pauric Cullen from the local Rosglas Hurling Club on bringing an All-Ireland Medal to the Town.  This indeed is a rare event and one to be celebrated.

A great second half fight-back saw Kildare minor hurlers defeat Westmeath to capture the All Ireland Minor Hurling B title in Thurles this afternoon, Saturday 30 August.
Behind by three points, with some 15 minutes remaining, Kildare came storming back to overhaul their opponents before going on to take the title on a scoreline of Kildare 2-13 Westmeath 1-9.
Scorers: Kildare, Martin Fitzgerald 1-7 (2 frees, 2 65s); Ross Kelly 1-1; Eoin Doyle 0-2; John Byrne, Martin Purdell, Philip Cocoman 0-1 each.
Westmeath: Barry OMeara 1-3 (s/line, 2 frees); Stephen Bardon (C.pollaard) 0-4 (3 frees); DanielRiggs 0-1, Killian Murhy 0-1.
