Water Pressure

It would appear that homes in Monasterevin are experiencing water pressure issues. How can we have issues with water when it has been raining almost every day for 3 months.  Do the residents of Kill and surrounding areas, those nearest the pumping station still have issues with water pressure. It seems that the problem is worsening with other areas of the town now having problems as well.

Walking around town

Best wishes to all the people out walking and running around the town since the beginning of the year. An interesting piece of information for all of you enthusiastic people. One lap of the town i.e. from the Bank of Ireland, turning at the Nags Head corner down past the schools and church turning left at the canal back to main street tunring left and back to the bank is almost exactly one mile (less a few yards). There are some very good websites out there about walking for fitness.  http://walking.about.com/  http://www.walking.org/  just a couple of samples.

Monasterevin Forum

The Monasterevin Forum has been getting more than its fair share of posts recently, alot of them by people complaining about facilities and representation in the town. Nationalist, local reporter, Ashling Mackey, has been quick to pick up on these posts and use them to highlight these issues in her paper. Check out her report on the link below. Why don't you check out the Monasterevin Forum yourself and maybe you might feel like posting a comment yourself. It is fairly easy to register and after that you can post as often as you like. You can comment on existing topics or start a topic yourself.

County Kildare local historian Liam Kenny returns with a talk entitled ‘Bullets and Ballots’, covering the 1916-1921 period as the Monasterevin ascendancy lost power in the local council elections to Sinn Féin in a political struggle repeated all over the country at the birth of the nation.
