Playground for Monasterevin

Is Monasterevin loosing out again because of lack of representation at the County Council. Lots of towns surrounding Monasterevin have all had new Childrens Playgrounds built. Kildare and Portarlington are the lucky recipients of brand new, state of the art, Childrens Playgrounds. Portarlington in particular is the one I notice more as I have reason to pass it on a regular basis and it is extremely busy. Parents and children are using the facilities in large numbers. Are the children of Monasterevin less valuable or less important than those of surrounding towns, of course not !   Its just we don't seem to have the ability to channel our requests to the ears of people who make the important decisions or more importantly the clout to make these important people listen.

Links

We do not have a forum on the new site as yet, but to gauge interest we have put a link to the monasterevin.ie forum. There are a couple of posts there, it will be interesting to see if this link increases the volume of posts. darcangel wonders if anyone in Monasterevin is using computers at all. The link doesn't go directly into the Monasterevin Forum, you will have to select it from the list.

Where is the Post Box

Since the Post Office moved to the Shopping Centre, people are disapointed that there is no post box in the town. There used to be one on the bottom of Drogheda St. but it has ceased to be functional quite a while now. Hopefuly we will see one in the town shortly. The post service in town seems to be back to normal efficiency.

Tougher Road

Everyone must be impressed by the improvements on Tougher Rd. The road is much wider and smoother. There was some disruption when they were repairing the road but now that it is finsihed it is much better. It certainly looks much brighter. However has any one noticed that as a result of the improvement that there is a pole sticking out of the road a couple of feet from the footpath. Hopefuly this will be rectified in the near future before there is an accident.
