EDENDERRY TOWN   0

The visitors started the better passing the ball  with greater accuracy than Kynog United who seemed to struggle with the speed of thought and movement of Edenderry. The home defence had to be alert to keep out both Mark Nolan and Jack Dempsey. Kynog  took the lead in the 11th minute when a Mark Mitchell cross found Martin Baneham who lobbed the advancing Gary Kerrigan in the visitors goal. Anthony Byrne went close to testing the keeper shortly after before Kynog doubled their advantage when a Donal McGrath pass was followed by a fine strike from Martin Baneham from the edge of the area. With Kynog in the ascendency Martin Baneham completed his hat-trick after a good cross by Gavin Crowe. The second half saw Brian Moules produce a couple of vital interceptions for Edenderry whilst both Donal McGrath and Dale Percival went close to increasing the Kynog lead. The home defence were well served by all with Eoin Quinlan producing an excellent tackle to deny the Edenderry attack.
