Under 12 Kynog United V Clane

Kynog Utd 4 – 2 Clane

In perfect conditions for football, Kynog started brightly and went ahead as an Adam Toman’s through ball found Johnny Byrne who rounded the keeper to roll the ball home.  Clane got themselves level within minutes as Dylan Devine scored from close range. The game was flowing from end to end with goalkeepers Joey Toman of Kynog and Andy Watson of Clane pulling off good saves to keep the scores level. It was Kynog, however, who took the lead again when Johnny Byrne scored from 20 yards with a powerful strike, and Kynog extended their lead when Johnny Byrne was tripped in the box before converting the penalty for a deserved hat-trick. Clane weren’t going to lie down though and got themselves back into the match as Dale Maguire finished a fine move by lobbing the ball over the outrushing keeper to leave Kynog with a slender lead at half-time.

Clane dominated the second half and it took some fine defending from Craig Harris and Gerry Melia at the heart of the Kynog defence to keep them out. With Clane pushing forward looking for the equalizer, Kynog broke quickly and Jamie Adams ran on to a through ball to finish well to put the game beyond them.
