Under 13 Kynog United V Newbridge

Kynog welcomed Newbridge to Kynog Park for what was to be a very entertaining game . Newbridge started strongest attacking the Kynog back line of Darragh Lynch, Jack Byrne, Eoin Kelly & Gerry Melia and showing some good fast passing and slick moves to try and get their opener but the opener was to come at the other end after a spell of Kynog possesion which say Eoin Kavanagh who was making his debut finish ever so sweetly pass the Newbridge Kynog United 4 Newbridge 3
keeper.

Kynog got fired up after this and applied some great pressure on the Newbridge side and it paid off after Dylan DOnohue crossed for Brian McGrath to make it 2.
Newbridge were starting to gain more possession in mid field with Liam Glynn and Shane Smith starting to get more balls played to them to keep the Kynog defence on their toes.

However it wasnt long before Kynog were 3 up after Dylan Donohue received a super pass from Dean Bowers and he made no mistake with the finish. After the break we saw a different Newbridge side who won a lot more possession and kept Kynog in their own half.
This paid off for them 8 minutes into the second half when Luke Glynn got them on the score sheet. Newbridge got their heads up and soon made it 3-2 with a brilliant strike from Shane Smith that Kynog keeper Lee Dempsey could'nt keep out.

Kynog were feeling the pressure now and the introduction of Conor Murray and Luke Herbert settled them down as Brian McGrath latched onto a pass from David Lee to make it 4-2. But Newbridge were'nt finished yet and a goal mouth scramble saw them reduce the gap to one goal again when Peter Carroll shot through a crowd of players to bring a very tence ending to the game.

The game ended 4-3 to Kynog who deserved their win but credit is due to Newbridge who never gave up and both teams played some excellent football and in a very sporting manner. Well done to all players
