Kynog started well with Gavin Crowe prominent on the left side of midfield.  An early effort from Gavin Crowe saw Greg Murphy make one of a number of excellent saves in the visitors goal. Kynog took the lead in the 10th minute when a cross from the right found Crowe at the far post and he volleyed the ball home. The home team almost extended their lead when an Eamon Cox effort from outside the penalty area tested Murphy once more. A series of half chances were created by the home team but none taken. Kilcock equalised in the 31st minute when a Dane Hoban cross was expertly headed home by Neil Vorster beyond Blaine Treacy. Half time arrived with no further scores. The second half began with Anthony Byrne going close for Kynog. The home team retook the lead in the 51st minute when Donal McGrath was fouled just outside the penalty area. Jason Ryan stepped up and found the  bottom corner of the net. Greg Murphy was again forced to save from Donal McGrath shortly after while a Dale Percival effort was cleared off the line. Kynog were now pressing forward and when Martin Baneham was taken down in the penalty area he took the resulting penalty sending the keeper the wrong way. Evan Comerford responded for Kilcock only to see his effort narrowly clear the crossbar. Brian Fogerty saw a goalbound effort cleared off the line by Conor Dully. The home team were well served by all players.
