Under 16 Kynog United V Kill Celtic

UNDER 16 MAJOR DIVISION

KYNOG UNITED     1
KILL CELTIC         2

A closely contested game saw the visitors come away with the points last Saturday. The home team started well with Martin Baneham forcing Nathan Fitzharris into a fine save. Both midfields were seeking to gain the upper hand with Kynog looking to get the ball down and play into wide areas. Kill opened the scoring in the 20th minute when a free kick was headed in by Luke Purcell. Kynog seemed a little shaken and it took them a few minutes to settle down again. The equaliser arrived in the 31st minute following good work down the left by Ciaron Baselmans and a superb finish by Dale Percival. Half time arrived with no further scores. The second half saw Mena Lucau causing problems down the right wing for Kill. The winning goal came in the 54th minute following a free kick that was finished off by Stephen Skelton. The home team went in search of an equaliser with Donal McGrath  and Gavin Crowe both going close.

Kynog United V Monasterevan

IT WAS A MIDDAY START TO A VERY GRIPPING GAME. KYNOG UTD WERE PLAYING HOST TO MONASTEREVIN.
BOTH TEAMS STARTED THE GAME VERY BRIGHTLY WITH MONASTEREVIN GETTING THE FIRST ATTEMPT ON GOAL, BUT IT WAS IN THE 9TH MINUTE THAT A THROUGH BALL FROM JOHNNY BYRNE SENT A.J. LYNCH ON TO GET THE FIRST GOAL. MONASTERVIN FOUGHT BACK AND ONLY TWO EXCELLENT SAVES FROM REECE WINDERS KEPT THEM OUT. IN THE 12TH MINUTE KYNOG WERE AWARDED AN INDIRECT FREE IN THE 18 YARD BOX. AJ TAPPED THE BALL TO ADAM TOBIN WHO SLAMMED IT INTO THE TOP OF THE NET. MONASTEREVIN REPLIED WITH AN EXCELLENT GOAL FROM ANDREW PRENDERGAST IN THE 14TH MIN  HE FOUND THE KYNOG NET AGAIN  IN THE 20TH BRINGING THE SIDES LEVEL.
FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FIRST HALF IT WAS END TO END STUFF WITH BOTH SIDES PLAYING FOOTBALL TO BE PROUD OF.

MONASTEREVIN STARTED THE SECOND HALF VERY DETERMINED BUT MAN OF THE MATCH PERFORMANCES FROM BOTH REECE WINDERS AND JOEY TOMAN KEPT THINGS LEVEL.
BAYO OKE SCORED FOR MONASTEREVIN IN THE 45TH MIN BUT YET AGAIN KYNOG HAD A REPLY WITH AJ GETTING HIS SECOND.BRILLIANT SAVES FROM BOTH SIDES MADE THIS A VERY EXCITING ENCOUNTER.
IN THE LAST MINUTE OF REAL TIME ALEX HARRIS OF MONASTEREVIN PUT THEM AHEAD AGAIN WITH AN EXCELLENT GOAL BUT KYNOGS RESPONSE WAS TO SEE ADAM TOBIN RACE WITH THE BALL DOWN THE LEFT WING, CROSS IT IN TO DANIEL WHO STRUCK IT WELL BUT THE GOALIE PARRIED IT OUT AND KYNOGS AJ WAS THERE TO PLACE IT IN THE BACK OF THE NET. FINAL SCORE KYNOG 4 MONASTEREVIN 4. A FAIR RESULT TO AN EXCELLENT GAME.

Kynog United 3 - 0 Newbridge Town White

At 10.30am on Sunday Morning at Kynog Park, Newbridge Town travelled to take on Kynog United U'8 team. This was an exciting game from start to finish with Newbridge Town never giving up the fight.

1st quarter saw Kynog take the lead with a fantastic shot from Thomas Fallon. Newbridge Town never stopped trying and were unlucky not to draw the game before the end of this quarter. 2nd quarter was more of the same with Emmet Donoghue of Kynog all over the pitch and on top of every ball with great support from his team mates Thomas Fallon, Grainne Lawlor and Darragh Merriman. Kynog United kept the pressure on with another score from Iarlaith Peelo Dennehy leaving the score 2-0 at the end of the 2nd quater. 3rd and 4th quarter Newbridge Town were unlucky not to score with a couple of great shots just off target. Under 13 Kynog United V Mill Celtic

U13 major division

Kynog Utd 1       Mill Celtic 2

In a cracking game at Kynog Park Mill emerged victorious bringing the home teams good run to an end. Mill started strongest and only for the brilliant Lee Dempsey in the Kynog goal Mill would have been well clear. Eventually Mill scored when Ryan Nolan blasted in to the net. Darragh Lynch and Joseph Kenny started to get Kynog going and a nice pass from Brian Elliott to Dylan Donoghue who fired home left the score 1-1 at half time. Mill were well led at the back by their captain Adam Meehan and goalie Lee Connolly who were now under pressure from David Dunne and Ade teriba of Kynog. Mill however on their next attack scored a cracker from Joe Finnegan and this was to prove the difference between the sides.
