Under 11 Kynog United V Kilcock Shield match

Kynog Utd 1 - 3 Kilcock Celtic

Kynog were slow to start and paid dearly for it as Kilcock eased into the Shield Final. Kiclock went in front early as Darren Droney fired home from the edge of the box. Stephen Gildea put Kilcock two up just before half-time as a Kynog were slow to react to a ball breaking in the box as Kilcock dominated the first half.

Kynog looked a different team at the start of the second half as they looked to get themselves into the match and created a few half-chances before Dylan Smullen scored with only 10 minutes to go to get themselves back into the game. The final ten minutes were a real cup-tie cracker as Kynog threw everything at Kilcock while Kilcock looked to finish Kynog off with a third. Adam Lynch of Kynog nearly took the match into extra-time but his effort came back off the post before Kilcock finally put the game beyond Kynog as Darren Droney converted a penalty despite the best effort of Kynog's keeper Reece Winders, and to complete Kynog's misery, midfielder Glen Thorpe was carried from the field with a nasty knee injury with time running out after another fine game, while Kilcock can look forward to the final.
