Edenderry Town made the short journey to Kynog Park and both teams took to field of play on a beautiful sunny St Patricks day morning watched by a large crowd. Kynog immediately went on the attack and went one up in the 7th minute of the game when a Ryan Casey pass found David Hayes who calmly opened the scoring. Minutes later Evan Dempsey had his attempt bravely saved by Cain Brereton Towns U12 teams shot stopper. Kynog continued to pile on the pressure and a  Kevin O Brien free kick beat the visitors defence for Evan Treacy to lob the advancing keeper in the 13th minute. Two minutes later David Hayes scored his second for the home team. Edenderry were starting to win more possession and Brian Mc Grath had to be alert in the Kynog goal. Before the half time whistle an Evan Treacy corner was taken down and superbly finished by Kevin Sheridan. The socond half started with Edenderry on the attack but after some great passing and team play Kynog were testing Edenderry Man of the match goal keeper Cain Brereton with further chances from Shane Morrison and Ryan Casey. In the 43rd minute Evan Dempsey found the back of the net. Shane Morrison was causing the Edenderry defence all sorts of problems as the left wingers speed and skill found him having some great chances. Edenderry never gave up and can be proud of their performance.
