Under 8 Kynog United V Sallins

Kynog Utd 5 - 3 Sallins Celtic

From the kick-off, Kynog went straight into attack and only a fine block by Aaron Dalton prevented Kynog from taking an early lead. Sallins played themselves into the game and they took the lead as Mobesayo Awomewe picked up a loose ball inside the box, stepped past his marker and fired into the corner. Kynog roared back in the second quarter and came close on a number of occaisions with Micheal Cummins being particularly unlucky, however they couldn't make the breakthrough as Sallins went into half-time with their lead intact.

The second half opened in the same way as the first, with Kynog on the attack, and when they forced a corner, a quick short corner caught Sallins out, and when Josh Harris's shot was blocked on the line, Shane O'Connor was on hand to slam the ball in. Kynog were on top now, and they took the lead after a lovely passing move down the left ended with Joshua Lee setting Shane O'Connor up to finish well. It was no surprise when Kynog extended their lead, as Ciaran Casey fired home after some extended pressure, and directly from the kick-off, Justin Reilly intercepted a pass and ran through to fire his team into a 4-1 lead. The start of the last quarter saw a lovely move from Kynog with Josh Harris ghosting past three players before finding Shane O'Connor whose cross was turned narrowly wide by Ciaran Casey. Kynog took their foot off the gas and Sallins got themselves back into the game through Rory Gavin, but Justin Reilly put the game beyond them with his
second, although there was still time for Sallins to add a third through Lukas Maher to leave the final score at 5-3 to Kynog, and the crowd thoroughly entertained.
