This match was played in blustery conditions as both teams struggled to come to terms with the strong winds. The opening period was evenly contested although Moone enjoyed more position around the middle of the park. Then in the 12th minute following a Tony Kealy goal kick which deceived the home defence Mickey Wall was on hand to slot the ball past Cian Gilligan. A few minutes later the Kynog keeper made an excellent save low to his left. Kynog responded with a Donal McGrath shot comfortably dealt with by Tony Kealy. Moone Celtic doubled their advantage in the 27th minute following good work by Emmett O Keeffe and Tomas Murphy. The visitors were passing the ball better and their movement was causing the home team problems. Shortly before half time Conor Staines shot narrowly wide following a through ball from Donal McGrath. The second half saw the home team push back Moone Celtic in the early stages and Conor Staines shot narrowly over following an Adrian Moran pass. Their pressue was rewarded in the 55th minute when a Shane Merriman corner was volloyed in to the corner of the net by Donal McGrath. Moone Celtic put the the game beyond doubt with two quick goals in the next six minutes. The game became more stretched as Kynog went in search of consolation goal. However the days scoring was completed by the visitors in the 75th minute. Best for the home team were Cian Gilligan and Conor Staines.
