Kildare Town       2

This was an excellent game of football played with great spirit by two very evenly matched teams. The home team started brightly opening the scoring in the 2nd minute of play when an Evan Dempsey cross found Brian McGrath in the right place for him to flick the ball up for a volley beating the advancing Kildare keeper. Six minutes later Ryan Casey was on hand to double the home team scoring with a shot from thirty yards out. With play going from end to end both keeper had to be alert.
Kildare Town reduced the arrears when Andrew Walsh beat the Kynog defence , Just before Half time Dylan Merigans hand work brought the visitors back into the game with an equalizer. The second half saw these two teams battle hard as neither looked content with a draw. Robert Beirne was introduced for the home team and made an immediate impact on the game. Scott Critchley and Niall Fleming was both having a great game in the kildare defence making some crucial interceptions. Kynog's determanation paid off when a through ball from Brian McGrath found the runner for Evan Treacy to slot the ball into the back of the net. The game was not over yet as Kildare responded almost immediately forcing Ross Maher in the Kynog goals to be extra alert as both team produced end to end exciting football. Minutes before the final whistle Ryan Casey crossed the ball in for Evan Treacy to score from close range. Credit to both set of players who put on a superb game of football.
