This closely contested match between neighbours was as good a match as you will see and it was a credit to the children who took part that the large crowd were kept on their toes right to the end.




Prosperous had kindly agreed to move venues and Kynog were determined to hold onto their unbeaten home record. Right from the start Kynog attacked and Adam Lynch was fouled on the edge of the box. Up stepped the Rock Dylan Donoghue and only the net could stop his blockbuster.




Prosperous were not unnerved and driven on by Birthday boy Wesley Heavey they began to put Kynog under pressure. Kynog Captain Eoin Kelly and Goalie Lee Dempsey were kept busy by the tricky wing play of Cashel mc grath and striker Emmet O Connor




Kynog stepped up the pressure and Gary harnett shaved the post and Joseph Kenny had a drive blocked by Lorcan Behan who was marshalling the Prosperous defence superbly. With a minute to go before half time Prosperous won a penalty and Cathal mc grath scored. 1-1 at half time and all to play for.




Colm Staines came on for Kynog and his clever play set up Brian Mcgrath who finished to the net. Kynog were doing all the attacking and Adam Cully and Darragh Lynch linked well only to see the ball cleared off the line. Brian Elliott was keeping the Kynog defence in line and Kynog were unlucky not to extend there lead.




Prosperous roared on by there large following stepped up there game and Jack Tormey sat up Cathal Mcgrath and his blockbuster was unstoppable. Prosperous were now on the up and a Wesley Heavey free kick shaved the post.




Conor Donoghue & Conor Murray as they have done in numerous matches drove Kynog forward and Conor Donoghues run was finished to the net to his and his team mate’s delight .Conor Murray followed up with a shot that was nearly kept out by the Prosperous keeper Matthew Keane . It was all over and a very sporting match that had Man of the match for Kynog in Conor Murray and Prosperous in Wesley Heavey.
