DUBLIN EDENDERRY BUS ROUTE EXTENDED

Members of Timahoe Community Development Council captured an historic moment on camera when they boarded the first ever public transport bus in Staplestown and headed for Dublin, on Monday, 3rd. September.
Consultations with Bus Eireann and Timahoe Council began last March, to extend the Coill Dubh service to include Timahoe.

Dick Burke (Bus Eireann ) conveyed the glad tidings that a daily service ( Mon.- Fri.) would be provided, commencing Mon. 3rd. September. Bus departs Staplestown at 11.10 a.m., turning at the Stores to link back into the established Coill Dubh route.
Bus departs from Dublin at 3.30 p.m., reaching Staplestown at 4.30 p.m. approx.

A revised timetable will be available on 16th. Sept. showing these developments and also the extension of the service from Edenderry to Tullamore.
We would like to take this opportunity to express a sincere vote of thanks to Dick Burke for his genuine interest in pursuing this matter and for his enthusiastic representations on behalf of the people of Timahoe and Staplestown.
We would also urge as many people as possible to use this new service so as to make it a success.
