Fr. Denis Ryan

The Timahoe Branch of Tir na Mona held a very enjoyable evening in St. Kevin's, some weeks ago to show our thanks and appreciation to Fr. Denis Ryan S.M.A., who has helped out in the parish for the past year. A terrific night’s entertainment was provided with the help of Patsy Mullaly, Carbury and his "One Man Band".  Many thanks to him as he managed to coax several shy and retiring members of the community to take the "Spotlight" and notable amongst our songsters were Nancy Byrne, Dick Lane and Molly Delaney. Fr. Ryan followed later with a lovely rendition of "Bunch of Thyme". We held a Raffle for which we would like to thank St. Kevin’s committee and some of the organising committee for providing prizes and refreshments. Over £200 was made in the raffle and all was handed over to Fr. Ryan there and then. It was a great night and many thanks to you, the community, who supported us and again to St. Kevin’s for providing the premises.

Sympathy

The Timahoe Branch of Tir na Mona would like to convey our deepest sympathy to Andy Noone and all his family at the sudden death of his wife Mai. May she rest in peace.

Parents Association

Timahoe N.S. Parents Association aim to purchase computers for the school.  With this specific goal in mind, an ambitious fundraising schedule was planned.  Events to date:

1) Enthusiastic card players gathered in Peter’s on Fri 12th March. It was an enjoyable social event.  Many thanks to our cardplayers and also to two absent players for their donations. A grand total of £210 was raised.

2) The sale of work, on 21st March was a very successful fundraiser. This was due to the many willing helpers, who gave generously of their time and energy. A special mention must be made of the young boys and girls who helped setting-up, serving tea, organising raffles....Well Done! Of course, the support of our friends and neighbours on the day was vital and, because of you, a grand total of £630 has been added to the computer kitty.

3) The Timahoe Drama Society added their considerable talents to our efforts to purchase computers. We thank Owen and his troupe for their donation, raised on 30th March at a Variety Show.

Up coming events:

1)   Don’t forget our Table Quiz, in Peter’s on Fri 9th April, starting at 8.30pm SHARP! There will be spot prizes throughout the Quiz, a Raffle during the interval and lots of laughs along the way.
